These Scam Jobs are Genuinely Disgusting

I'm sick and tired of the sheer amount of tomfoolery that goes on during the job search, from the fake job postings to the blatant disrespect towards job applicants, as shown mostly through ghosting.

But recently I've found something else through my normal job search that seemed fishy, but in a different way from all of these obviously fake remote data entry jobs. It's something more insidious than that, because technically it is a real job. It's a sales job that will promise you all the training you need to become a major success, and all you have to do is work excessively long hours to (maybe) get paid some commission. The job might be titled something that sounds nice like "account manager" or "business development associate", but it's quite literally just door to door or telecom sales.

But don't worry, because there is so much opportunity for advancement in the company! All you have to do is stay there long enough until you can be promoted to a recruiter who targets other naive recent grads who are desperate for a job, and then those people will also someday become recruiters, and then eventually you might be able move up further up the ladder to become a business owner.

This all seems a bit pyramid shaped, doesn't it?

When I looked up the particular company that posted this "account manager" job listing that I found, there were a couple other things that raised even more red flags. First of all, there was basically zero information on the company itself, which had apparently only been around for 6 months. I also looked through their social media which radiated this kind of odd self improvement cult type of energy. All their posts were about how working for them will help you achieve your full potential, but I didn't see anything about what they did for their customers. Which makes me think that their employees are the customers. They're customers getting sold this lie of success through some scammy job opportunity.

Through some digging I found out about this concept called a Devilcorp, which is basically a direct sales job which thrives more on recruiting new people than anything else. I would highly recommend doing your own research into this topic, and be careful out there during your job search!
