Leaning Into my Love of Interior Decorating
After moving out of college I decided to give my childhood bedroom a pretty big makeover, and there's something about planning out how I want my space to look that just fills me with so much excitement. Everything from gathering references, to figuring out what I want to buy and where it should go in my room, to physically putting everything in place is a pretty rewarding experience.
My parents never moved around much, so we've had this same house for about 17 years at this point, meaning I've had this bedroom since I was only 5 years old. And while I've made some changes here and there, my room clearly did not fit me any more. I'll likely still continue to feel this way until I fully move out because staying in the same place for too long feels a bit stagnating, but at the very least altering my current bedroom feels very achievable in the current moment, and like it's given me a small step forward.
